Thursday Night Lights Week Five Preview

10/24/12
All good things must come to an end.

So get ready for the final week of OXYwater Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza! This weeks game is Amanda-Clearcreek High School at Logan Elm High School in Circleville.

The Amanda-Clearcreek Aces have a 1-5 record in the league, a 3-6 record overall with a 1-3 away record. Although they lost their last game visiting Bloom Carroll, they gave Fairfield Union a pretty good run for their money with a win! They are ranked 410 in the state but they are ready to bring the house down at Logan Elm.

The Logan Elm Braves have a 3-3 record in the league, a 5-4 record overall with a 2-3 away record. The Braves blew out their visitors at their last game with a 31-0 win against the Circleville Tigers. Ranked 284 in the state, the Braves aren't letting anyone win in their house!

Make sure you tune in this Thursday at 7 p.m. on The CW Columbus for all the live action. The game will be streaming live in HD, too, on CWColumbus.com!

Thursday Night Lights Week Four Preview

10/15/12
Get pumped for week four of OXYwaters Thursday Night Lights presented by Jets Pizza. This weeks game is Whitehall-Yearling High School at Columbus Academy in Gahanna.

The Whitehall Rams have a 1-4 record in the league and a 2-6 record overall, with a 0-3 away record. Theyre ranked 502nd in the state. While these statistics dont look the most promising, the Rams dominated over Central Crossing and Lakewood. Although they lost, theyve also held their own against Grandview Heights and Heath.

The Columbus Academy Vikings have a 3-2 record in the league, a 4-4 record overall and are ranked 241st in the state. Last week they lost in a very close game against Licking Valley, but one week prior they devastated Bexley. While the Rams lost to Heath, the Vikings won against them 42-21.

With a good pep talk in the locker room and a little bit of OXYwater before the game, this could be a toss up. Be sure to watch the game this Thursday as it streams live in HD on the Columbus CW!

Thursday Night Lights Week Three Preview

10/09/12
Its week three of OXYwater Thursday Night Lights, which means there's another exciting game lined up. Last week's upset of New Albany over Olentangy showed that this really is a game where anything can happen, so you don't want to miss this game.

This week, Hilliard Davidson High School will take on Olentangy Liberty High School at Olentangy Liberty's stadium in Powell.

The Hilliard Davidson Wildcats are ranked 82nd in the state and have a 5-2 record. Last week, Hilliard Davidson crushed Upper Arlington with a score of 42-14. The Wildcats two losses were against Hilliard Darby (17-3) and Dublin Coffman (33-10).

Olentangy Liberty High School is ranked 110th, has a 6-1 record overall and is undefeated in the league. The Patriots one loss was to the aforementioned Olentangy High School, whose winning streak was ended by New Albany last week. Last week was a good one for Olentangy Liberty too, they devastated Westland with a final score of
63-7.

As always, this game could go either way. The two teams are relatively closely ranked, and although Olentangy Liberty is ranked lower, it has a better record and has had consistently dominant wins. You cant ignore the fact that they're also undefeated in the league, although they have not played Dublin Coffman (Hilliard's one loss within the league) yet.

Tune in to the CW at 10 PM to see live coverage in HD!

Thursday Night Lights Round 2

10/02/12
Are you ready for some football? Well, its not quite the NFL, but this weeks OXYwater Thursday Night Lights game might have you thinking otherwise.

Thursday, October 4, the New Albany Eagles will take on the Olentangy High School Braves (Lewis Center) at New Albany.

The undefeated Braves are ranked 49th in the state, and, so far, have devastated every team they have played, except Worthington Kilbourne in the first week.

New Albany will have a tough game, but a win is doable.

While the Eagles are ranked 109th in the state and have a 4-2 record, they are undefeated in the league. Their two losses were early in the season and very close calls: they lost 10-9 at Reynoldsburg and 23-20 against Westerville Central. After those very close losses, they have dominated over every opponent.

I fully believe that New Albany will put up a fight and could lead to Olentangy's first loss.

How will the game play out? Tune in to the CW on Thursday October 4 at 7 pm for live coverage of the game in high definition!

So far the Marion Franklin Red Devils have had a fairly successful year with only one loss in week two to Pickerington Central. They are undefeated at home, but 1-1 away. Currently the Red Devils are ranked 62nd in the state of Ohio.

The Walnut Ridge Scots, ranked 297, are 2-2 with one loss at home, one loss away and two wins away. Numbers may not lie, but upsets are possible! If the mighty Scots fight to defend their home turf, we may witness a fantastic upset.
